An incredible collection of Antiquities includes Greek, Roman, and Etruscan pieces which used to be part of the grand-ducal and Medicean collections once on display at the Uffizi Gallery as well as private collections acquired over the years.
The first floor houses the Egyptian Museum, recently enlarged with two rooms devoted to Coptic antiquities, and the section of stone and bronze Etruscan and Roman Sculpture displaying a number of interesting finds among which the great bronze statues of the Chimaera and the Athena from Arezzo, and the Haranguer.
The second floor displays the collection of Attic ceramics with black and red figures (remarkable is the so-called François Vase) and a section devoted to geometric Greek ceramics. The second floor also houses the restoration yard of the Sarcophagus of the Amazons.,
